TPS means Throttle Position Sensor.

The TPS is charge of reading the position of the butterfly from the air inlet throat towards the engine with a powerful sensor who delivers a signal to the Electronic Control Module, which is used to control fuel injection times into combustion chambers.

We can define TPS as a simple structure power receiver that unfortunately can break because of time and use.

The curious thing about this issue is that Ducati does not sell its TPS sensor as spare parts. TPS are integrated in the injector’s’ body, so in many cases you have to pay more than 1800 euros for a simple “chip”.
