Clutch actuator for Ducati. Slave Cylinder, which one to buy?

Clutch actuator for Ducati. Slave Cylinder, which one to buy?

In our blog we already did a report trying to clarify technical aspects that may be recommended when purchasing a clutch actuator for Ducati. Today we will not go back to all those details and specifications, today we’ll focus our recommendations on the possible patterns purchasing and on commercial aspects such as aesthetics, price, warranty or ease of use.

The fact that 90% of the Ducati carry the same clutch actuator or slave cylinder is more than enough to justify this article; however, in other posts of Carbon4us’ blog we’ll talk about different models of clutch actuators such as Ducati Panigale, Panigale V4 or Multistrada 1260.

For us the perfect slave actuator or cylinder is the one that provides a plus of softness to the clutch handle and doesn’t affect negatively to his behaviour, fulfils its function accurately, is beautiful, is guaranteed and has a reasonable price.

Based on these aspects, we will make a ranking with those who are, in our opinion, the 5 best slave cylinders for Ducati in the market.

In the 5th position of our actuators’ ranking we’ll place a mega top sales of the Italian bran EVR.

Number 5: EVR clutch actuator for Ducati 29mm

EVR is synonymous with quality and good use, although it’s true it’s the most selled actuator for Ducati in these recent years it’s also the most Racing of all. When Edo Vigna designed this slave cylinder one of his goals was to make a more accurate component for a smoother and competitive hydraulic system. However, the durability and simplicity of use doesn’t make this product the most recommended for those who doesn’t use the bike for competition. If you’re used to circuits and track days this is your clutch actuator. But remember as it’s a Racing product it’s not guaranteed.

Our ranking continues to the top and we’ve arrived to the:

Number 4. In this occasion we recommend the Carbon4us Ducati clutch actuator by STM. It could be our top 1 but we don’t want to make to much self-propaganda, but it’s clear it deserves a privileged place.

Clutch actuator for Ducati manufactured by STM.

This actuator has been manufactured by STM under the criteria of the Carbon4us’ technical department and pilots. Our goal was to make a maximum flow slave cylinder to help drive the clutch cam, this actuator we achieved saves up to 30% effort, but at the same time we have also tried to make a product with maximum duration, so we included a clutch rod anti-rotation system that avoids the wear of the system. A 5-star product for a contained price of 149 euros VAT included. And of course, always in stock. The only negative point I’ll say that we only make it in Red and Black colour, so those lovers of Gold or natural Aluminium will not have that possibility.

Stand Number 3 is for CNC Racing LOGO AF282 Slave Cylinder

It’s a classic clutch actuator for Ducati. A simple product, with flawless construction and anodized quality and a very linear aesthetic that makes it perfect for both Monster and Ducati Superbike. In addition, it has a super price content of 147 euros and an aspect that we love, which are your 2 years warranty.

Number 2 CNC Racing Clutch Actuator PRAMAC Edition.

Another top selling actuator (despite its price, 180 euros) is the CNC Racing PRAMAC Edition. Yes, the Pramac-Ducati binomial works very well and CNC Racing as a MotoGP partner makes the most of this aspect. The truth is that it has a simple design, but the simple fact of wearing a MotoGP sponsor on your Ducati makes you fall in love with this product. In addition, it has 2 years warranty and works really well, you can’t expect more. Good, pretty and good ?.

Number 1 Clutch actuator for Ducati Ducabike AD02

We place this actuator the number 1, for the simple reason that Claudio Gandolfi was the first engineer to mount anti-rotation systems to his actuators, something that later might copied many more brands. It is as good as the others products, as beautiful as any, and with a contained price of 168 euros and of course with anti-rotation system of the clutch rod, which prevents oil losses by the hydraulic system and premature breakages of the components thereof.

For optimal operation, always remember that every hydraulic clutch system should only be used with Brembo Dot4 brake fluid for Ducati
